All educational media is available free of charge to any student, parent or educator in the State of Wisconsin. The Education Services Division of ECB is responsible for the delivery and production of educational media designed specifically to meet the needs of K-12 students and educators in the state.
Education Services staff acquire the broadcast and digital rights for educational media that are aligned with state educational standards to be delivered online or broadcast on Wisconsin Public Television, Milwaukee Public Television and WDSE-TV (Duluth). Education Services staff also work closely with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and state educators to produce educational media specific to the needs of Wisconsin educators and students.
ECB staff, in partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Extension, oversees the operation of Wisconsin Public Radio and Wisconsin Public Television.
ECB provides NPR, PBS and other cultural programming to those areas of Wisconsin not served by UW-Extension or Milwaukee Public Television. ECB staff provides the technical support to deliver WPT and WPR programming throughout the state of Wisconsin. Engineering staff at ECB is also responsible for the operation and maintenance of WP Radio and WPT transmitting equipment.
ECB's Delivery and Operations Staff is also responsible for maintaining the distribution system for the state's Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Amber Alert. In addition, ECB staff is responsible for the operation and maintenance of 26 National Weather Service Transmitter sites throughout the state.
