ECB is a state agency that delivers educational, noncommercial, and public safety media via Wisconsin Public Radio and PBS Wisconsin. ECB is seeking a Broadcast Engineer (Media Telecommunications Technician) at an entry level or senior level (depending on qualifications) for our Field Engineering Team in the Southwest Region of Wisconsin; headquarters in either Middleton or Highland, WI.

Broadcast Engineers are responsible for a wide variety of duties, including maintaining, testing, and repairing broadcast systems; monitoring electronic systems status; and performing routine preventive maintenance and services for our regional sites in Southwest Wisconsin.

Minimally qualified applicants will have education, training, or experience in each of the following:
-Repairing, analyzing, and troubleshooting equipment failures
-Managing and performing periodic maintenance requirements as related to complex systems and equipment
-Interpreting diagrams and electrical prints
In addition to the above, qualified applicants for the senior level will have education, training, or experience:
-AM/FM radio and television broadcast engineering including high power RF systems, HD radio, ATSC systems, and studio to transmitter link systems
-Network monitoring tools and systems, voltage meters, spectrum analyzers, power meters and network analyzers

• Experience with IT and networking standards as they pertain to broadcast infrastructure, systems, and equipment

Broadcast Core Systems Engineer

• Experience working with broadcast automation systems, including system design, implementation, maintenance and upgrades.
• Experience implementing and supporting audio over Internet Protocol in support of production and live broadcasting.
• Experience working in support of complex broadcast operations, including training and supporting colleagues, prioritizing and resolving issues, and recommending solutions.

• Experience as the primary or responsible expert supporting modern information technology such as Windows and Linux servers, network switches, routers, firewalls, and purpose-built appliances in support of 24/7 broadcast operations.
• Experience using scripting and automation to reduce the administrative burden to maintain and monitor continuously operating technology in support of 24/7 broadcast operations.
• Experience supporting peers and colleagues to maximize broadcast quality and reliability.
